Spirituality of Authentic Witnesses in Post Modern Asia
Lecture Series VI

This book is the compilation of all the papers presented during Sixth Spirituality Forum with its theme "Spirituality of Authentic Witnesses in Post Modern Asia"

This book explored and focused on the notion of Spirituality as the locus of postmodernity and postmodernity in the Asian continent, particularly the Philippine context as reality. Moreover, presenters also explored the notion of authentic witnessing as a postmodern value through the experiences of those working in the areas of community building, inter-faith dialogue, care for Mother Earth, and communications and technology.

Fired From Within: Spirituality in the Social Movement

This book centers on the stories of 16 persons who worked with consuming zeal and passion for social change in Philippine society. The stories speak of their families, their way of life, their religiosity, the options they took and their life-long commitment to the cause. The storiesspeak of the plight of the "wretched of the earth," and their struggle for human dignity. Most of all, the stories speak of the movement itself-in whose bosom they caught the flame that "fired them from within."

The authors listened to each story with utmost sensitivity, rising above any ideological content, to do justice to the stories themselves. This book seeks to understand the motivations and aspirations, the hopes and dreams and pains of a unique group of persons who taken equally unique fundamental options in their lives.

This book is not about spirituality. it is a challenge to those interested in spirituality. It is a challenge to spirituality itself.
